BacklinkCRM is, as the name says, a CRM. It's built to run the relationship side of link building: the paid links, barter deals, and guest posts you arrange, the partners you arrange them with, and the links those deals produce. For a team whose day is outreach and deal-making, that shape fits, and the price is low. The catch is that the CRM is the whole product. If your real need is knowing when a link dies, turns nofollow, or drops out of Google's index, or you'd rather record partners and link costs in fields you control than in a fixed Partnership record, there are better-fitting tools.
There's also a question worth asking before you buy any backlink CRM: do you need a separate CRM at all? A monitor with custom fields can hold the same partner, cost, and deal data right beside each link's live status, so one subscription does both jobs. That idea drives the first pick below.
The six tools here are ranked, with prices taken from each vendor's own page and a working demo you can open without an account. LinkWatchr is ours, which is why it leads, but the rest of the list is honest about where another tool wins.
Prices and limits below are from each tool's official pricing page on the last-updated date. SaaS pricing moves, so confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.
A few common reasons, none of which make it a bad tool, just not the right shape for every team:
Keep this handy as the thing you're comparing against. BacklinkCRM sizes its plans by Partners (the sites you deal with) and Partnerships (the individual exchanges logged under them, each one a link to track, and one partner can hold several), not by backlinks or domains. It does have a genuine free plan:
| Plan | Monthly ($/mo) | Yearly ($/mo) | Partnerships / Partners | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 100 / 50 | 3 |
| Starter | $19 | $15.83 | 300 / 300 | 20 |
| Growth | $59 | $49.17 | 1,000 / 1,000 | 50 |
| Scale | $129 | $107.50 | 5,000 / 5,000 | 1,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |

Every "Starts at" figure below is the entry plan billed monthly, so the column compares like with like.
| # | Tool | Best at | Backlinks on entry plan | Free plan | Starts at (billed monthly) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | LinkWatchr | Monitoring that scales, plus a CRM you build with custom columns | Unlimited (credit-based) | Trial: 1,000 credits | $13/mo |
| 2 | BacklinkManager.io | The same backlink-CRM model, more built out | 50 (free) / 200 | Yes (50 links) | $49/mo |
| 3 | BacklinkPilot | A free link-building CRM | 500 (free) | Yes (500 links) | Free / $50/mo |
| 4 | LinkWatcher.io | Monitoring plus a guest-post marketplace | 25 (free) / 500 | Yes (25 links) | $29/mo |
| 5 | Linkody | Clean monitoring with white-label client reports | 500 | 30-day trial | $14.90/mo |
| 6 | LinkChecker.pro | Monitoring with a budget tracker for link cost | 400 | n/a | $25/mo |
Now the detail on each.
LinkWatchr is a backlink monitor priced on credits rather than fixed link tiers, and it has the one feature that lets it stand in for a backlink CRM: unlimited custom columns. A single link check costs one credit, so the bill follows what you actually watch.
| Plan | Monthly ($/mo) | Yearly ($/mo) | Credits/mo | Workspaces | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $13 | $10 | 10,000 | 1 | 3 |
| Growth | $36 | $29 | 30,000 | 3 | 6 |
| Scale | $99 | $79 | 80,000 | 10 | 20 |
| Agency | Custom | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited |
There's also pay-as-you-go: $9 per 10,000 credits, valid a full year, no subscription. A link check is 1 credit; a search engine index check is 20 credits per URL.
The CRM here is something you build, not something handed to you. BacklinkCRM ships with a partner pipeline ready on day one; with LinkWatchr you spend the first few minutes setting up your columns. And authority metrics (Ahrefs, Moz), Slack alerts, and white-label reports are still on the roadmap, so if a client wants a logo-stamped PDF this quarter, Linkody does that today and LinkWatchr doesn't yet.

Track partner, cost, and more in columns you define, along with each link's status.
BacklinkManager.io calls itself "the only CRM for backlink building," and it's the nearest thing to BacklinkCRM on this list: the same partner-and-deal idea, executed deeper. You pay more for the extra depth.
| Plan | Monthly ($/mo) | Annual ($/mo) | Backlinks | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 | 1 |
| Starter | $49 | $39 | 200 | 3 |
| Growth | $119 | $99 | 1,000 | 10 |
| Scale | $299 | $249 | 5,000 | 20 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 10,000+ | Unlimited |
It's the inverse trade of BacklinkCRM: more features, roughly double the entry price ($49/mo billed monthly, $39 annual, for 200 links, against BacklinkCRM's $19). Backlink caps are fixed and step hard (50, 200, 1,000, 5,000), so 250 tracked links pushes you onto the $99 plan. And before you upload a client's profile, read its data policy: it shares both anonymised and non-anonymised usage data with partners and doesn't honor "Do Not Track."

BacklinkPilot is a free link-building CRM aimed at agencies, built by the team behind Service Provider Pro. If BacklinkCRM's draw is keeping partners and deals in one place, BacklinkPilot does that starting at nothing.
| Plan | Price | Links | Check frequency | Partners / Clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 500 | Monthly only | Unlimited / Unlimited |
| Paid | $50/mo | 5,000 | Not stated | Unlimited / Unlimited |
Timing is the weak spot. Free checks run monthly only, and BacklinkPilot won't say how often the $50 plan checks. When a paid link can vanish a day after it goes up, a monthly sweep is a long wait to find out. It's also a side project: the team built it to market Service Provider Pro, so its roadmap answers to that product, not to backlink monitoring.

LinkWatcher.io puts a guest-post marketplace next to backlink monitoring. BacklinkCRM manages the guest posts and paid links you've already arranged; LinkWatcher.io is also where you can go to arrange them.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly ($/mo) | Links | Projects | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 25 | n/a | n/a |
| Freelancer | $29 | $24.17 | 500 | 4 | 1 |
| Collaborator | $69 | $57.50 | 1,000 | 10 | 3 |
| Agency | $129 | $107.50 | 2,500 | 20 | 7 |
| Enterprise | $249 | $207.50 | Custom | Custom | Custom |
It's young and small (a 4.4 Trustpilot from a handful of reviews), and like BacklinkCRM it doesn't spell out alert timing, so you'd be trading one set of vague monitoring docs for another. The marketplace only pays off if you're actually buying placements, and at $29/mo for 500 links the entry costs more than BacklinkCRM's $19.

Linkody is the "skip the CRM" pick. If you've decided the partnership pipeline is overhead you don't use, Linkody just monitors links and reports on them, which for a lot of agencies is the whole job.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly ($/mo) | Links | Domains | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Webmaster | $14.90 | $11.20 | 500 | 2 | 1 |
| Advanced | $24.90 | $18.70 | 2,000 | 5 | 1 |
| Pro | $49.90 | $37.40 | 5,000 | 20 | 3 |
| Agency | $99.90 | $74.90 | 20,000 | 50 | 5 |
| Agency XL | $153.90 | $115.40 | 50,000 | 100 | 10 |
There's no partnership or deal management here at all, so Linkody replaces BacklinkCRM's monitoring half and none of its CRM half. Checks run on one fixed 24-hour cadence with no per-link or per-project control, and there's no cost or budget field, so paid-link spend gets tracked somewhere else.

LinkChecker.pro is a monitor with a built-in budget tracker, and the budget tracker is the bit that overlaps a CRM: it records what each link cost. If the reason you'd reach for BacklinkCRM is keeping tabs on paid-link spend, this puts that inside a monitoring tool.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly ($/mo) | Backlinks | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $25 | $20.80 | 400 | 1 |
| Standard | $50 | $41.70 | 1,000 | 5 |
| Pro | $100 | $83.30 | 2,500 | 15 |
| Pro 4K | $153 | $127.50 | 4,500 | 22 |
Higher tiers run up to 12,000 monitored backlinks, and annual billing takes 20% off across the board.
It tracks cost, not relationships, so there's no partner record and no outreach pipeline; it's a monitor that logs spend, not a CRM. There's no free plan, and the floor ($25/mo for 400 links) sits above BacklinkCRM's free tier and $19 entry. The tiers are narrow (400, then 1,000, then 2,500), so a portfolio of 450 links still pays for the 1,000 bracket.

Match it to what you do most:
If the thing slowing you down is monitoring that grows with the work, clean client separation, and recording the deal data (cost, partner, status) without buying a second app, that's the gap LinkWatchr was built to close. The trial runs 14 days (support@linkwatchr.com if you hit a wall). If you live in outreach and deal-making, weigh BacklinkManager and BacklinkPilot first.
For managing partners and deals while monitoring at scale, with fields you define and a separate workspace per client, LinkWatchr is the strongest pick. For the same partnership-CRM model with more depth, BacklinkManager.io. For a free CRM, BacklinkPilot.
Yes. BacklinkPilot is free for 500 links, LinkWatcher.io has a free tier (25 links), and BacklinkManager.io has a free plan (50 backlinks). LinkWatchr runs a 14-day trial with 1,000 credits and no card. BacklinkCRM itself also has a free plan.
Billed monthly, LinkWatchr at $13/mo and Linkody at $14.90/mo are the cheapest paid options, both below BacklinkCRM's own $19 entry. LinkWatchr also sells credits with no subscription, $9 per 10,000, valid a year.
BacklinkManager.io. It runs the same partner-and-deal model and also brands itself a backlink CRM, though it costs more (about $49/mo billed monthly, versus $19). BacklinkPilot is the closest free stand-in for the partnership workflow.
Yes, if the monitor has custom fields. LinkWatchr's unlimited custom columns hold partner, link cost, deal type, status, and campaign next to each link, so one tool covers the monitoring and the CRM. LinkChecker.pro's budget tracker covers the cost-tracking slice. A monitor with a fixed schema can't.
Usually for monitoring it doesn't document (check timing, alert types, index checking), for sealed client workspaces instead of clients counted as users, or because they'd rather log partners and costs in flexible custom fields than fit every link into a Partnership record.
